Eligibility Criteria for ITBP New Recruitment 2024

  1. Sub-Inspector: Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, IT, Electronics, or related fields.
  2. Head Constable: 12th pass with PCM (45% marks) or ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Communication, or related fields.

Constable: Matriculation with ITI/Diploma in relevant fields is desirable.

Age Limit

  • Sub-Inspector: 20–25 years
  • Head Constable: 18–25 years
  • Constable: 18–23 years

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Up to 8 years (depending on the category)
  • Government employees: Up to 5 years

Salary

  • Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication): ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Level-6, 7th CPC)
  • Head Constable (Telecommunication): ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Level-4, 7th CPC)
  • Constable (Telecommunication): ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level-3, 7th CPC)

ITBP New Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

Phase I: PET & PST

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates must qualify in the PET, which includes events such as races, high jumps, and long jumps. The requirements vary based on the post and gender. Ex-servicemen are exempted from the PET but must qualify in the PST and other stages.

Physical Standards Test (PST)

Candidates passing the PET will undergo height, weight, and chest measurements. Those not meeting the standards may appeal on the same day, and the Presiding Officer’s decision will be final.

Must be proportionate to height and age, as per medical guidelines.

Medical Standards

Vision:

  • Near vision: N6 for better eye, N9 for worse eye.
  • Distant vision: 6/6 for better eye, 6/9 for worse eye.
  • Color vision: CP-III.

General Health:

  • Free from knock-knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or squint in eyes.
  • Good mental and physical health, free from any defect that may hinder duty performance.

Disqualifications:

  • Candidates with color blindness will be disqualified.
  • Pregnant candidates will be temporarily unfit and re-evaluated six weeks post-confinement.

Phase II:Written Examination

Phase III : Document Verifaction

Candidates shortlisted in the written exam must produce original documents, including:

  • Educational certificates.
  • Date of Birth Certificate (10th class)
  • Caste/Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, etc.).

Phase IV :
Medical Examination & Merit List and Final Selection

Candidates undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Unfit candidates can appeal for a Review Medical Examination (RME) within 24 hours.

Merit lists are prepared category-wise based on marks scored in the written examination.

In case of a tie:

  • Older candidates are given preference.
  • Alphabetical order of names is considered as a final tie-breaker
